Mr Ben Saayman is the Chief Plant Officer at OTESA Civil Engineering, bringing over 10 years of leadership experience across the mining and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries. He is a highly driven and strategic engineering professional with extensive expertise in plant operations, maintenance management, operational efficiency and asset performance optimization. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering and has served in both middle and senior management roles throughout his career. His professional experience includes key leadership positions such as Maintenance Superintendent at Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine and Plant Manager at Polyoak Packaging.

Mr. Saayman possesses a strong combination of technical capability and strategic leadership, with proven experience in long-term maintenance planning, operational de-bottlenecking, safety management and driving internal efficiencies within complex operational environments. He was also part of the restart team that successfully brought the Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine back into production, contributing to one of Namibia’s significant mining operational milestones.

He is passionate about building high-performing, accountable and safety-conscious teams that support operational excellence and continuous improvement. His leadership philosophy focuses on creating collaborative working environments aligned with organizational goals while ensuring optimal plant performance, maximum asset uptime and cost efficiency.
